Can you physically injure someone you love?
Breaking up with someone you love: 20 reasons why you should go away
Breaking up is life-sucking enough when you're not in love. Breaking up with someone you love feels like your heart is breaking forever.
It's hard enough breaking up with someone because you've had enough of them. But, worse, break down with someone you love. Loving someone can be the most insightful and spectacular feeling when things go well. When they don't go that well, it exhausts you, sucks the life out of you and makes you wonder what this journey here on earth is about.
The problems with love
Love is problematic on many different levels. First, there really is no specific explanation as to why or how we fall in love. A conundrum to those who have spent decades studying it, a mix of chemistry and other ingredients, love is not something you control, it just happens.
That is the second problem! You can't just stop loving someone because your head is telling you. It's not that you can't physically cut them out of your life. Feelings of love are not something that you just turn off.
If you're in a toxic relationship, been betrayed, or just not working, breaking up with someone you love can be the hardest thing you ever do. Take heart. You won't feel like you do forever. You just can't. I don't promise you that one way or another you won't always love her. But in time you will be able to think about them and not have a pain in your heart that feels like your heart is about to explode.
20 reasons you might want to break up with someone you love
There are times when you need to break up with someone you love in order to save yourself. If you are in a relationship where you love someone but hurt yourself, then you save yourself. The only person you can save on this earth is you. As much as your heart wants what it wants, gives there are times when your head has to win.
# 1 You love but are not in love with anyone. OMG i know. I hate, hate that sentence too. But we all know what it means. There are times you start in a relationship and the magic is there. Then the chemistry not only fades, it turns black.
There has to be some physical attraction in your relationship or you are missing out on something that will add color to your life. Don't stay with someone because you love them when you are not in love with them. Better to hurt her now and later, or hurt yourself by denying the attraction to yourself for eternity.
# 2 The relationship is toxic. There are many ways that a relationship can be toxic to someone. If you're in a relationship where you're a worse person, then you were before you knew them or suddenly you don't recognize yourself, then it's time to get out even if you love them. Go and find yourself again.
# 3 Once a cheater, always a cheater. I'm sorry to say that, but it's true. If they betrayed you once, they would do it again. If they don't respect you enough to be true what makes you think, if things get a little boring, they won't step back out ... they will.
# 4 You love them a lot more than they love you. There are times when you are much more invested in a relationship than the person you are with. Never stay in a relationship where you are underrated or not with the kind of unconditional and caring love you deserve. Even if you leave, one of the hardest things you do is.
# 5 You're a narcissist. A narcissist loves a person, himself. Truly, that is the definition. If you are in love with a narcissist and you think you can change her, you cannot. It's a personality trait.
Some people live with and love a narcissist, but if it causes you pain, then it's time to start thinking about breaking up with someone you love.
# 6 You just don't seem to get along. If you're in a roller coaster relationship where you seemingly keep walking around, it may be time to end the un-fun ride. A relationship shouldn't have more valleys than peaks.
If it sucks you dry and wastes your energy and time, it's time to tear yourself away and move on.
# 7 They are your twin flame, not your soul mate. What looked like your soulmate might actually be your twin flame. You love your Twin Flame as much as you love your soulmate, but they're not the one you should be with for life.
They're there to prepare you for Mr. or Mrs. Right. Even if you love them, they are not who you should be with and you feel it.
# 8 They cause problems in your life. If they steal, lie, talk badly about you behind your back, insult yourself, or just not being so good to you, you deserve better. They cause more problems in your life than their love is worth.
Sometimes you love people who do nothing but cause heartache. And as hard as it is to break up with them that they cause problems forever, it's going to be a long, hard road.
# 9 You just aren't and never will be compatible. Opposites attract, but they don't always make for good relationships. If you are not compatible, you will find very little together forever, even if you love her.
# 10 You're in love, but it's not a deep and spiritual love. There are times when chemistry is like that, so there, but the intense feelings of love, commitment and unconditional care are not. The sex is awesome, but waking up one day to find that you're lonely in the relationship isn't.
# 11 You're someone you don't recognize. When someone brings out the worst in you you may need to think about quitting with someone you love. If they do things that don't make you yourself or behave in ways that aren't characteristic of you, then it's time to find someone who can make you the best.
# 12 You want different things in life If they want the mountains and they want the sea, that won't change, and one of you sacrifices. You wouldn't want to wake up one day and have grudges in your relationship. Sometimes the best way to show your love is to let someone you love.
# 13 They don't know what they want and you can't live like that. If they love you one day and aren't sure the next, then as much as you love them, it's time to move on. The only way they'll know how they think of you is when they know what it's like to be without you.
Breaking up doesn't always have to be forever, but it may be enough to wake them up to the fact that they can't be without you.
# 14 It's a co-dependent relationship. Don't confuse addiction to love. You might feel the same, but all you do is hold on to each other and drown. Codependency is not love; it's addiction.
# 15 They hurt you physically. When someone hurts you physically and breaks up with someone you love, it is not only necessary but also for your safety.
# 16 You are ruining your family or children. Huge tumultuous relationships aren't cool. Above all, they are not cool when you have children that you come across as role models.
If you can't get along and it upsets your family or children, then it's time to start thinking about breaking up with someone in love because it's just not fair or good for anyone.
# 17 Unlock them theory. Sometimes when we see someone doing something wrong or not being their best self, they have to hit rock bottom. If you hold onto someone you love because you are afraid of losing them, you are doing it for the wrong reason.
Cut them out and let them figure out their own shit before they pull you down. If you love someone set them free, when they come back you will know they are real.
# 18 You need some time to figure things out for yourself. Breaking up isn't always a permanent thing, but if you're not sure how you feel about someone, the important thing is that you like it too, and be honest.
If you love someone but are not sure if they are the "Eternal" one for you, do not take them further while you are making your decision. You don't save them from injury, you just lose them.
# 19 Right person, wrong time. There are times when you can love the right person at the wrong time in your life. If you are about to get married and they don't even think about it next week, then maybe it is time to leave just to get perspective.
Once again, it doesn't always have to be to stop with someone you love the end. Sometimes it can even be the beginning of something permanent and real.
# 20 You have to move. When you or the person you love is young and one moves away from you, long distance relationships sound like they aren't a big deal, but they are. If you are never willing to compromise in a place in life it will result in wasting your time, years of your life and possibly missing out on meeting the right person for you.
If you're thinking about breaking up someone you love but you're scared of losing them forever, remember, fate is in control, whether we like it or not. If it is supposed to be, it will be. If not, something bigger is waiting for you.
