Why is baby Yoda so old
Exciting "The Mandalorian" theory to a great surprise and Darth Vader
Again the warning: spoilers for the first two episodes of “The Mandalorian” will follow!
In Germany, “The Mandalorian” will not start until March 31, 2020, in line with the release of Disney +. In the USA, Canada and the Netherlands, however, the new streaming service is already available - and with it the first two episodes of the "Star Wars" real series about a silent bounty hunter. That's why the internet is currently being fed with pictures of the cute surprise from episode 1: "Baby Yoda".
The name "Baby Yoda" is not entirely correct, as the cute baby that the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) finds at the end of episode 1 only belongs to the same (unknown) species as the famous, ancient, green Jedi master - but as it is the case with nicknames, you simply get missed them, resistance is futile. In any case, the age of the baby is more decisive for the story: 50.
"Baby Yoda" and Anakin Skywalker are born in the same year
According to the official “Star Wars” calendar, “Baby Yoda” was born in the same year as Anakin Skywalker (for fans: 41 years before the Battle of Yavin in “Star Wars 4”). Is this decision by the story makers a coincidence?
One does not really like to believe in coincidence. Probably the most important figure of the "Star Wars" real series next to the Mandalorian was born in the same year as the greatest of all villains - that should mean something. And of course, fans on the Internet have long since come up with a suitable theory.
As we know from "Star Wars 1: The Phantom Menace", Anakin Skywalker, who later became Darth Vader, was not conceived by a papa, but was planted in the belly of his mother Shmi Skywalker (Pernilla August) through a supernatural influence (like Jesus) . In "Star Wars 3: Revenge of the Sith" and especially in a more recent Darth Vader comic, it is implied that the Emperor is personally responsible for this.
Has the Force corrected here?
It is quite possible that "Baby Yoda" was created in direct response to Anakin Skywalker's birth! The power, which is not only a supernatural force in "Star Wars", but also something like an intervening god, could have created "Baby Yoda" so that there is a counterweight to the later Darth Vader.
In any case, “Baby Yoda” has extraordinary abilities - we see that in the second episode “The Mandalorian”, when the green toddler really saves the butt of the experienced bounty hunter by power. No wonder the villains are interested in him. Whereby a hint is hidden in episode 1, what the ex-imperial officer (Werner Herzog) and Dr. Pershing (Omid Abtahi, the guy with the glasses) could actually plan with "Baby Yoda".
The symbol on Dr. Pershing suggests that "Baby Yoda" should be cloned - because this symbol can be seen in "Star Wars 2: Attack of the Clones" on the arms of the young clones.
