The health benefits of masturbation for a woman

Masturbation is not a male domain and far from something reprehensible that we should be embarrassed about. After all, masturbation is not only fun, it also supports women's health in many ways. FITBOOK explains it in more detail.

“Don't say anything against masturbation. That is sex with someone you love. " This is a famous quote from Hollywood legend Woody Allen, and there is still a lot to add. Masturbating brings numerous health benefits to both sexes - which are specific to women, FITBOOK found out from the Frankfurt-based gynecologist Dr. med. Andreas Gardé and Simone Rokohl, an expert in sport and exercise at the DAK health insurance company, asked.

Effective pelvic floor training

The pelvic floor muscles are one of the most important muscle groups in the body (read here in more detail how you can train the pelvic floor with love balls). The problem: Without specific training, the muscles become weaker and weaker due to their constant stress (from the organs in the abdominal cavity, possible pregnancies, etc.). In old age, this can mean a prolapse of the uterus as well as urinary and fecal incontinence, and it can also cause the vagina's ability to contract (i.e. the ability to contract or tense) to deteriorate.

Fortunately, the pelvic floor can be strengthened through targeted training. And that happens automatically through the muscle contractions when masturbating.

Strengthened defense system

According to the experts, women who climax regularly are more immune. Whether this is several times a week or several times a month is not so important. What matters is that a woman does it. Because masturbation improves sleep - and good sleep is known to be very important for the immune system.

This is also due to the fact that endorphins are expelled when masturbating, i.e. happiness hormones, and these lead to a reduced release of the stress hormone cortisol. Sex - alone or as a couple - can therefore to a certain extent prevent mental illnesses (e.g. depression, burnout).

Less period pain

The blood circulation in the intimate area is promoted by masturbation. This has an antispasmodic effect - and is particularly good news for women who are prone to severe menstrual cramps. So in the end you still take care of lovely days.

Masturbating is good for a woman's soul

Of course, sex with a partner is just as beneficial to physical health. But masturbation does you another equally important service. Taking time for yourself regularly, pampering yourself and - without the assistance of another person - creating beautiful feelings automatically strengthens your self-confidence.

This also has positive effects on sex for two. Because: if you know What You like and how, you can convey it too. This not only improves sex for you, but also makes the other person more fun if he / she does something right.

And what are the advantages for the man?

FITBOOK has already worked with urologist Dr. med. Christoph Pies spoke. He even mentions a specific number of masturbations per month, which studies are said to have shown to be particularly beneficial for men’s health. You can read his answers here.
